We hope you like what you see here, because we are quite confident you will love us once you dine at our restaurant. Our goal is to convey the same spirit of dedication to excellence in hospitality and service that we show our patrons everyday when they walk through our doors!
Trattoria Trecolori is not your typical theatre district Italian restaurant. We are a family owned; family run restaurant. Decisions made here are always done with the objective of taking care of our regular customers and continually creating new regular customers. We do not do that with heavy advertising budgets or biased media write-ups; we do it with good old-fashioned hard work. We are proud to tell our customers that we are the best Italian restaurant in mid-town Manhattan, and quite honestly, we are convincing people everyday.
Trattoria Trecolori's history began back in 1991, when our father, Joaquin L. Gonzalez, or "Jack," opened the first set of doors on East 53rd Street as Trecolori. A few years later, in December of 1993, he relocated to a central location in the Theatre District on West 45th Street, and slightly changed the name to Trattoria Trecolori. This is where Trecolori really began to grow strong roots with its customers; offering both classic and fresh Italian recipes with unsurpassed service, all at very reasonable prices. Patrons would particularly recognize the extraordinary service, led by "il patrone," Jack, his sons Marco and Victor, and the long-time #2 floor captain Antonio "Tony" Amaral. Success and growth continued until Jack's untimely death on January 10, 2001. Jack's 30+ year career in the New York City restaurant business laid the best foundation for his sons Marco, Victor, and later Phil, to confidently grab the reigns of the family business.
Years later, on June 26th, 2006, the small and quaint trattoria on 45th Street closed its doors for good to venture to our current home at 254 West 47th Street. Opening night was not until nearly a full year later on May 8th, 2007 after extensive infrastructure work, meticulous décor planning, and careful menu and wine list preparation. We were so fortunate to have our entire staff come back to us after having been closed so long, truly a reflection of the team and family spirit we have at Trattoria Trecolori.
We mention all of this history and background to our restaurant because without it, we would not be the same. We are well aware that a great restaurant does not happen by accident, nor can you throw money into one and expect it to flourish. We hope that when you walk through our doors, you can see this long history in the way we say hello to the way we see you out. So please give us a call for a reservation or if you are in the neighborhood please come on in for one of the most genuine and authentic dining experiences in all of New York City. Grazie e ce vediamo presto!
Marco, Victor, and Phil Gonzalez
